Classic Performance Products has a great stainless steel dropout battery box that mounts on the frame.

I have a No-limit drop out stainless box on my 55, it should be able to work on any car or truck with a flat side frame, i mounted mine under the cab

Re: Frame Mount Battery Options

No-limit engineering, the box is not polished, it says it was made for series 74 bateries, i think for the optima dry cell batteries, but i have a napa battery in there right now. you will most likely need a side post battery. fyi, there is no "hold down mechanism" for the battery, you can drill a hole on each side and use the J bolts with some flat stock on top, or other technique. what this box has, is a flange that folds over the battery, I actually folded the flange back to put the battery in then bent it back down. sort of a PITA.
