Front Brake Hoses
1 Attachment(s)
I'm trying to find a source for the factory front brake hoses for a 63 4x4 with the drum brakes. I included a picture, most part vendors show the larger hose end for that year of truck, have any of you found a source for the correct hose, thanks, Larry

Re: Front Brake Hoses
I got mine from Napa. They worked / fit fine. Price seemed right too. If I recall it was Raybestos hoses.

Re: Front Brake Hoses
The larger one are the ones that NAPA gave me they won't even fit the wheel cylinders that they had, they had nothing else to offer. If you have a part number I would appreciate it, Larry

Re: Front Brake Hoses
Hey Larry, I just finished swapping out the axles on mine but I think we saved the hoses. I will take a look in the shop tomorrow and let you know. Chris

Re: Front Brake Hoses
I've mainly used my local Hydraulic hose guy..."Hosepower USA".....They had a complete brake fitting dep't......So I simply had them make me up custom hoses....$70 for the both fronts...
One other time they did not have the correct fitting for a hose I needed so they "re-captured" the fitting off of my existing hose....worked perfect and they even polished it up to look like new.... |
Re: Front Brake Hoses
Thanks Rack man, I have used the farm hydralic store for PS hoses, I'll look around, thanks again, Larry

Re: Front Brake Hoses
Do you want factory replacement hoses or are you interested in braided stainless steel hoses?

Re: Front Brake Hoses
Hey Larry, I just got in from the shop. I did look for them but it appears they got tossed. I did get them at the local Napa though. Sorry, Chris

Re: Front Brake Hoses
Thanks for looking Chris, Mick, I just want some newer hoses so they work well and are safe, braided steel are fine with me, Larry

A couple of adapters from the frame brake line (pictured)
And a couple of adapters at the brake drum, I don't have a picture, but an easy find, either 3/8 to -3 or 7/16 to -3 male. Then Smileys in Texas for the -3 braided brake line. Measure the length you need and make phone call. Mick |
