Brake fluid recommendations.
I have some Valvoline synthetic Dot 3-4.
Just wanted to ping you guys on what you found to be the best for our trucks. s/t |
Re: Brake fluid recommendations.
I use ATE.
It is standard on Porsche. I want to believe it makes the truck stop faster (hahaha). The ATE fluid does have a higher boiling point and additional moisture inhibitors than other standard brake fluid (even more inhibitors than Castrol LMA). If you are flushing old fluid out, ATE has both a regular gold/brown color and a blue color brake fluid. Using alternate color fluid makes it easier to tell when you have finished flushing out the old brake fluid. I got mine locally but here is a url from Tirerack for ATE http://www.tirerack.com/brakes/ate/a...e200_amber.jsp |
Re: Brake fluid recommendations.
fresh DOT3 is all you need. The stuff is designed to absorb water for a very good reason, and with the extreem temerature differences you have there, it's somewhat important.

Re: Brake fluid recommendations.
yep... Dot 3 is fine. The higher the Dot the more heat it can take. Bikes use Dot 4 or higher.
EDIT: any bike i have seen that is... |
Re: Brake fluid recommendations.
Is the 3-4 synthetic any good then? I guess it's for both?
