turn signal problem?

hey guys I thought someone might be able to help me with my turn signals. I got in the 66 this morning and found that when I use either side they both flash like 4ways. I just did the bed swap. when I reinstalled the lights and wiring I made sure the grounds were good. and my wiring is in good shape no nicks. any thoughts would help.

Did they work correctly before the bed swap? If so then I would recheck all the wiring you delt with in the swap

Well I don't have a diagram of a 66 but I'm thinking the turn signal switch is the most lilkely culprit?

I am going to try removing and repluging the wires when I get home. the turn signal cam and assembly is only a year or so old so hopefully that is not the culprit.

Just doin a little research to try and help ya cause I ain't got nothin better to do ('cept work). You don't have a hazzard switch do you? Also, is your turn signal switch an aftermarket/add on accessory?

Re: turn signal problem?

I appreciate the help no it's a faactory style in column turn signal assembly. no 4ways. I am really hoping that I just crossed a wire when I put it all back together.

I tried finding a wiring diagram online but couldn't find a good one with a factory turn signal switch that I didn't have to pay for. You don't happen to have one do you?

Make sure your lite buckets are grounding.....I had a hell of a time getting my tails to work right. They will do all kinds of crazy stuff when not hooked up and grounded correctly.

it sounds like you have a bad ground and it is back feeding.
