ol curt floor saga
2 Attachment(s)
Getting near the end on the floor. Made a quasi patch panel for the passenger side kick panel out of an old piece of sheet metal from a farm implement.
Now I started to remove a couple of seat bolts that I thought were coming out nicely when they snapped off. I tried several methods....welding a bolt to it and trying to get it out. Couldn't get a good ground and the weld would always break. Used an easy out and it was budging some....broke off the easy out! Next I just cut the section of the floor surrounding it out. After looking at it I wonder if I welded a piece of bar steel to the floor patch, welded patch to floor, marked seat hole, drill and then tap if that would work. Any thoughts? |
Re: ol curt floor saga
I would think that method should work just fine. Also noticed a square nut in your pic. You could probably weld that on your patch and have it 'pre-threaded'. Say 'Hi' to everyone at the hardware store again:lol:.

You need to start a build thread and put your ? on there. Then I would'nt miss half the stuff you do.;) Looks like your plugging along.;)

Unfortunately, they know way to well! The square nut is left over from one of the mounts for the cab. Do you think that would be an item a hardware store would stock? I have one started called ol curt progress, but it doesn't have very many followers, so I just post them seperate!:waah::waah: |
