Chevy 10 Bolt Diff w/22x11 rears
Question guys, im thinking of using a chevy 10 bolt rear with 22x11 rear wheels is it possible to fit these without modifying the diff meaning without shortening?

Re: Chevy 10 Bolt Diff w/22x11 rears
That is completely dependant upon the back-spacing of the wheel, the size of the tire, and the amount of drop on the truck.
Essentially and unanswerable question w/o more info |
Re: Chevy 10 Bolt Diff w/22x11 rears
I'm assuming this is for a truck that is bagged.... and assuming you plan to highly modify the inside of the bed (sheet metal).... and assuming you are ordering billet wheels with custom back spacing... and assumnig none of your link bars or bag brackets aren't in the way...
no problem. |

6.5" back spacing, no leafs springs and mini tub and your good!

Re: Chevy 10 Bolt Diff w/22x11 rears
Hey guys sorry about that, so heres the story not so long ago I purchased a Ford 9 inch rear diff which is obviously more narrow then most chevy rear diffs. Now I have decided I wanted to stay with my stock 10 bolt chevy diff and wanted to run 22x11 in the rear. yes bed floor will be modifyed and no bars will be in the way like a 4 link or anything, im actually going to a cantilever lift system from SD and a 3 link bar system.
Reason im asking this is because I have seen a few guys that never shortened there diffs running this type of wheel combo. Ill be running a 6.71 backspacing on these wheels with a +18 offset. Im going to assume I should be all right but wanted to know for sure if someone has a similar setup. |

Re: Chevy 10 Bolt Diff w/22x11 rears
YUP I already have the front ones and before I install my rear axle wanted to know if I had to shorten it to do the 22x11 rears 6.71 backspacing

They should tuck just fine. You might even end up with a 1/2" spacer.

Re: Chevy 10 Bolt Diff w/22x11 rears
So basically what your saying is I can still use my stock 10 bolt rear with no probs I just want to confirm?

Re: Chevy 10 Bolt Diff w/22x11 rears
Yep. Here a picture of a 20x10 with 5.25 backspacing. The face of the wheel is about as close to the bedsides as you would want to get, so with a 11" wide wheel you'll want the extra inch to be on the inside; based on that, I'm coming up with 6.25" minimum of backspacing. I think wheels look best when they are as close to the fenders as possiable, which is why i said you migh end up with the .5" spacer. :)
