I'm looking for a 67-72 sbc a/c bracket system for mounting the a/c compressor on the pass side of the engine. I'm in the Dallas TX area, shipping ZIP 75041.

If you don't take the set on e-bay, I have a '72 Super I'm parting out, I'll take brackets off it for you.

I do prefer to do business w/board members whenever possible. How much would you want for them?

Figures.... I searched the past couple of days. This made me realize I was checking in the 'vintage parts' section only & didn't look around in just the cars/trucks parts.
Thanks!

Re: WTB: 67-72 a/c brackets

Do you want to use them with cast iron manifolds or headers? Each application has slightly different back brackets.

Re: WTB: 67-72 a/c brackets

As do I!! $125.00 work for you? The truck isn't at my house, please don't send money yet let me take them off and ensure they are all there and in a condition I would want to buy. The truck is just as it was when it was built plus a little rust!! You need anything else, any small parts I can chunk in a box for you to help your project along?

Tom

I can

Doing aftermarket Ram-Horns (if they'll fit). 3/4 length Chevelle headers if not.

The Super has the original manifolds.

Do you know what's different specifically? I would have thought they were all set-up for manifolds & used spacers if headers were swapped in place.

Bump. Hoping someone local might have these before I move forward & commit.

Thanks. Until I can confirm the discrepancy on the possible differences, I'm going to try & find some locally so I can actually look @ them. I'll follow-up if nothing local plays out.

Re: WTB: 67-72 a/c brackets

After looking at all of the brackets I see what the difference will be. The points where that lower, cast, bracket attaches to the manifold is about ¾ of an inch out from where the header flange would be. It mounts to the first and third flange bolt. As I see it looking at the truck beside it with headers, you'll need spacers to support that bracket. If I can help you let me know.

That was kind of my assumption. Same brackets, but spacers required if utilizing headers (like many other sbc/bbc OE type brackets). I've modified later style brackets before to eliminate the need (78-81 'pancake' a/c compressor set-up).

Now I need to see some installed to determine if I can so something similar. I'm going to try & talk to a local guy to take a peek under his hood to get a better idea.

If you have a cell phone that can recieve picture texts I can send you the ways they are different.

I have a set of each... may be interested in parting with one set.

You wouldn't have any extra 4 core radiators sitting around for trade?

I am about an hour and 15 minutes East from Town East Mall and they are still on the truck. I think I am going to part the whole truck.
