Fuel Tanks/cells

Ok, so my rig is nothing but a wheeler. I am tired of the stock saddle bag tanks and constantly worrying about mashing one around a tree. I have been considering a burb tank, but don't want fuel hanging that low off the rear of my truck.

Figure my alternatives are an off-the-shelf cell or aluminum tank. Or, to have one custom made. Thinking of placing at the front of the bed, under the tool box, between the frame rails. My problem is that I worry about fuel starvation at angles and ascents/descents.

What have you guys used? Baffled tanks? What kind of pumps? what do you find works best for off road?

Thanks guys!!

Someone answer this, I think a sump helps the two little blue things, the foam inside. Got a pic of your rig.

I have a few more, I'll post up in the "in-action" thread in a few.

I have been thinking about fuel cells. You are saying that they are foam filled? Or baffled? Either way I need something like that. I saw yours in your thread earlier. I am pretty much leaning that direction. What are you using for a fuel pump?

nothing yet, but you need a sump to the blue thing in a box below the bottom of it. The foam should help from going side to side keeping it more stable, The foam is in bricks. some come with it some you have to buy.

There are bladder packs too.

summit has some poly fuel cells as well.. might be better for the type of wheeling that you do.

I used an aluminum fuel cell from Summit $250 http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SU...S/?image=large
It has the foam in it already, baffle about 1/4 of the way from end of tank for sender, and sump by outlet fittings, 20 gallon capacity.

Nice cell, We are going to make a custom one, We sold the red one because it didn't fit. We plan on building a sump too.
