bagging my 68.
 

im going to start bagging my 68 in the next few weeks and im not shure how to do the rear.
for the front i will be using upper plates with lower cups and 2.5'' drop spindals.

my question is do i need to monster notch the rear to get it to sit level?
i want to do somthink custom with the rear bags because i dont want to put them in ware the coils spring comes out. i want to do somthing with a braket on the axle tube and add a crosmenber directly obove it.

so will i need to monnster notch is and cut the bed, or can i just use a bolt in c- notch?

To get it level in the front you will have to do a larger notch and cut the bed. The c-notch will still leave you with a slight rake. Personally I like the rake and will be doing the c-notches on mine only, but it's definitely a personal preference thing.

IMHO if you are going to go through cutting the bed floor and doing a big notch, I would run custom inner fenders and rear wheelwells so you can drop it that extra few inches...or get front and rear dropmemembers :lol:

This truck has spindles and bags in the front, 2" blocks and notch in the rear and bags...this is on stock style steelies with I believe stock height tires

Here are two that are on 20's with the same setup to give you an idea how low you can go on 20's. The tires are a little larger than the overall stock height but this would give you a better ride and looks nice with the extra "meat" of the tire.

And last, but not least, IvelDesign's sweet 69 longbed he recently sold...in action :lol:
Spindles, blocks, and a c-notch...He allowed the pumpkin to slide up a hair into the wood bed so it's a little lower (1" or so) in the rear than you'd get with a stock bedfloor.

You can go this low with the bags on the stock trailing arms and not cut the bed. If you want it lower you will need a step notch and cut the bed.

That truck was built by n2billet and went by the name of Lucy. It only had a small C-notch that was owner built. He did do some modifications to the inner wheel wells in the rear, but the floor of the bed was not cut.

The front was dropped spindles, stock A-arms, bag plates and cups.

Heres mine. My setup goes as follows, Front: 2.5 drop spindles, top bag plates, bottom bag cups cut 1 inch. Rear: 2" lowering blocks, bolt in c-notch, no upper or lower plates. Wheels are 15" rallies on 235 70/15. Picture is aired out. Hope this helps.
