runnig lights w/headlights on

Somewhere I have seen a post that describes how to wire the running lights to stay on with the headlights. Does anyone remember where it is? Thanks

are your doing is connecting the taillight output wire to the parklight output wire... #4 and #7 posts on your headlight switch. If your wiring is original, should be purple and brown like in this pic (not my pic).

I didn't have a fancy connector like in the pic so I just doubled them up in a butt connector.

Here is what I did. I remember doing this to my first truck in 1981...a '65 Chevy C10. Man, it looked cool at night.

A little tip if you're using a Scotchlok to do this. Take a knife and trim out the little wire stop on the one side. These are designed for splicing a new wire into an existing wire, so they have a stop on the one side for the end of the new wire. When doing this conversion, you will have two continuous wires extending thru both sides of the connector, so the stop will be in the way of the one wire.

In lieu of "crimp-on" connectors, those have removable threaded caps. They are a little pricey, but they are heavy-duty, durable and make a lot tighter connection than the "crimp-on" style and the best part is, they can be removed and replaced, by unthreading the caps. I get them in the electrical section of O'Reilly Auto Parts. I forgot the technical/proper name for them or the manufacturer, but you should be able to get them in your area at most any FLAPS.
