1/2 ton to 3/4

I have a 65 chevy 1/2ton with coil springs and was wanting to convert to a 3/4. the front end i is easy. What a was wondering is how hard would it be to convert the back coil spring to a 3/4 leaf spring rear end setup?

Re: 1/2 ton to 3/4

if your not set on leaf springs there are some 3/4 rear ends out there that will bolt directly into your truck i got one on a trade deal and it was out of a truck with rear coils

You need to look at 67-72 trucks for your coil spring 3/4 ton rearend. They are quite common under those trucks.

Had to look and see where Wilson Ok was
If you were closer to the city there is a salvage out here called Carey's triple C, they have a bunch of older trucks in the 67-72 range and a few that are 3/4 tons.

yeah around here people think there old trucks in the back yard are worth as much as a new truck. And every junkyard ive called wants a arm and leg for anything old. thats y i was looking into leaf springs.

I have a '66 3/4 ton coil spring rear end complete (4:56). I'm in Cal. Let me know if this helps. Also 3/4 t. trucks have 2x6 frame rails. I tell you this be-
cause my whole parts truck is reduced to $500. Rear-end complete (brake to brake) would be near that. Let me know. 1966 C10 - rmcalori@live.com -

It would be quite a bit of work and some fabrication, but it can be done.

I thought you wanted a 3/4 ton 2wd?
