Wonder if the use different calipers in the front than the ones pictured. Looks as though they're wasting that extra inch of rotor.

I'm really liking those 14.5's but I'm also curious about the fit with the rotors?

Anyone have prices?

Dam!! thats high! I like big brake kits and all but do you really need 14.5 inch rotors? Not to hate on the guys who can afford it and want it, all I'm saying is do u really need this for daily drivers, show vehicles? Sounds like you would need for a track truck.

Re: Another big brake company

if you price simular kits from bear, wilwood, ssbc you'll find that this kit is priced about par with the other manufactures.... but what this kit has to offer the others dont, is their all electric powerbooster/master cyl. setup (which is 1G by itself)...

andrewmp6 11-17-2009 09:03 AM

Re: Another big brake company

I know the calipers are copies of the mustang Kelsey - Hayes 4 piston used 64-69.But the pistons are a lot bigger tho.Yeah there priced about the same as a big disc kit from anywhere else but the one piece rotor would be nicer then the 2 piece most others use.

Re: Another big brake company

Sure hope you have much better luck with the electric boster setup then my buddy did. After a number of attempts to get it (and the whole brake system) to work correctly, we pulled everything and went with a Baer setup and a Hydraboast. Works awesome now!

Re: Another big brake company

They have a Hydraboast and normal brake booster if you want to use those im sure you can.

Yeah but by the point he decided to swap everything, he had already had them replace the electric booster once and the rear brake kit (not the big brake kit you show) was based off the Cadilac calipers, which is a craptasic system and never got to work correctly. He had a ton of money into the car and just went with a known good system.

id be instrested to know what the prob. was... the electric portion of the master cyl. is a seperate piece, and if it wasnt working then the master would function as a normal (non powered) master...also i know these calipers are based off brembo, so thats good..

First, it never really gave much of a boost and was really loud. The second one wasn't much better. Yes the brakes worked but it was more like manual than any assist. If he wanted manual brakes, he could have saved a bunch of money.

His Hyrdatech hydroboost has been working great once it was bleed fully. You have to blead the booster (unrelated to the brake fluid) system with the power steering system to get it working correctly.

Sweet, Ya I didn't see a price either. All I need is the rotors and calipers. I'm curious how much for just that.

Re: Another big brake company

13 inch full kit with booster is 2k just called

68 short step 11-26-2009 01:42 AM

Re: Another big brake company

they are massive, 14.5" rotors all round, 4 piston polished alumnium brembo style calipers, and braided brake lines....also got another electric style master cyliner/power booster....
the calipers are 12" long and nearly 7" wide, and they look BIG, as well as the ROTORS themselves....everything installed with no problems, except the rears....the rear caliper mounting bracket mounting holes were off by
.25"..keep in mind tho, im running a ford 9"..im gonna call the company (abspowerbrake.com) and let them know, so they'll send me the correct brackets...but here is how big they are, and them mounted on the truck with 22s and 20s

Looks awesome. Can you give us the weight of what each caliper weighs? And also the weight of each rotor. I am curious, and maybe some others are too. I seen these in the Super Chevy magazine. Thanks!!
