Myth or Fact?

We all heard that the rear coils from GM A body cars can be used as rear lowering coils on our trucks. Has anyone actually done this? How much drop did you get? I was thinking the springs from an A body wagon which should have a pretty good load rating.

Anyone...............?

It should work, I did the reverse in order to stiffen the springs on the rear of my 67 catalina. Now, it has a little more sporty feel than before, when it was like a ride on the ocean. If it works one way, it should work the other.

I took the front springs out of a 1/2 ton 68 and put them in my 67 Camaro when I put the big block in it. The ride height was perfect and so was the spring rate. It seems like I did cut them a little bit though!?

I think they would work great on a street machine, But as longhorn said I don't think you would want to carry to big of load with car springs,
