Running exhaust in front of rear tires
 

I would like to run 2 1/2" exhaust along the inside of my frame, thru my ECE drop crossmember and exit just in front of the rear tires. My muffler of choice is the Flowmaster Super 44. The muffler comes in a straight thru or staggered inlet/outlet design. I'm not sure which one I need to run the exhaust the way I want it. Do I get straight thru or staggered.

I'd like to see photos of how the exhaust is run if you guys have them.

too much snow on the ground to go take a pic, but this is the set up I have. My mufflers are the original 40 series center in off set out. Pipes turn @45 angle and exit in front of rear wheel. I like 'em. I don't have a cross member though, as I have a 5 speed matted to the original bell with rear mounts.

here' s mine cant see from the pics but it dumps just after the mufflers rt in fron of the rear end

Good photo. I can tell I'll probably need staggered inlet/outlet
Are they dumping straight down or do they turn out in front of the tires?

Its gonna be loud as he!!.....If thats what you like , go for it;) if you like something a little "tamer" running through town(bark when you stand on it), I would suggest a set of Dyno max Superturbo's with your side exit exhaust. Also, an H or X pipe before the muffs will help mellow the note, & give a little more power in the mid range. crazyAL

LOL, that's what I'm looking for! This is by no means a daily driver and I want an aggressive sound.

Just a suggestion, I ran a 461" Olds BB through the system I mentioned(in my longhorn ,early 90's). It was one of those "rattle the windows" in any building you pulled up next to.....nothin like BB power;) crazyAL

mine is a little on the loud side, but not rattle the windows loud. it's just loud enough to drown out the wind noise at highway speeds.

Im running long tubes w/2.5 inch pipes and supper 44s, 3inch tail pipe dumps before the rear tires, I went with off set inlet/outlet worked out great and my PO is they sound perfect, not to loud

You meed the offset in (to hug the frame) and center out.Double offset will work,but not necessary.
