Air Bag Questions?
i have been looking around at build threads and i want to run air bags on my truck. i was hoping to get some advice, i have never messed around with air bags before. i have two goals in mind right now, running 20's and setting the frame on the ground. hopefully you can recommend some good companies to get parts through and maybe a list of what i will need to accomplish a bagged 71 LWB. thanks for all the help i will start a build thread when i start taking the truck a part

Re: Air Bag Questions?
I have a 70 FLWB and heres what I have learned in the last year about it.
first off if you want to lay frame your talking a hole diff animal..your going to loose your stock heater box have to do something about your hood hindges, your going to need drop spndles and and X member and your bed floor has to be raised or cut then theres the rear suspention???...... dont for get about an exhaust.... about bags..do it they ride great take a load and are a pretty easy install Did I mention budget??.. check out my build and some others and get an idea if you can do it and if it fits your budget |
Re: Air Bag Questions?

Re: Air Bag Questions?
NP once you get a working budget figure out a time frame too...I try to keep my truck from being down for to long..that being said I'm getting ready to tear mine down for a month or so..I have alot of work and parts..if it was spring each would take a weekend or so but since its cold out and the roads are salt cover I'm going to pudder

Re: Air Bag Questions?
Hey i recomend air lift in lansing michigan, They have a kit for this truck pretty cheap. I like air ride tecnoliges but i think its way to expensive, i mean $7000 for a kit?? They must be crazy. I am putting bags on my 67 right now i just did the monster notch lastnight, Its alot of work but i think its worth it. if you know how to weld and fabracate you can do it under id say $2000 with steel and everything.
As long as your bags are mounted pretty straight and not rubbing anything you will love it! |
Re: Air Bag Questions?
2 options: Porterbuilt OR dust off your welder!

miracle whip to post some pictures just click on reply to thread, to right of the FONTS box their is an attachments box to post up pictures. as far as build threads you would have to start one of your own under the projects thread.

Re: Air Bag Questions?
Welcome to the board miracle whip!
There is a "Projects Section" as a sub-forum to the main 67-72 Message Board. You can start your own build thread there. You know we will need more pics as your project progresses. |
