Re: Sanderson Headers
keep in mind how low you are full length heads wear funny if your to low..I have a post about the 88 to 95 3/4 header to keep it above the frame rail..so far no feed back??

Re: Sanderson Headers
It might just be me but most of them look like they aren't tuned. Is this something that should be considered? I'm thinking about putting a set on my 350. I've never had headers on any vehicle because I prefer stock but I think, in this case, I'm going to trim my engine up for just a bit more performance.

http://i851.photobucket.com/albums/a...Fitz/Notch.jpgThese are Sanderson BB-4 blockhuggers. On my 67 Stepside they tuck up between the frame rails so nothing is hanging down and they did not require much in terms of cutting to fit. On the passenger side I needed to put a small oval notch in the upper part of the frame rail but it was only 3/8 inches deep and 2 inches long. If this motor was anything other than a 572 that would not have been required but the heads are very far apart on this tall deck block. They also required relocating the oil filter which I did.

Re: Sanderson Headers
I'm running em on a zz4 (block huggers) and they work great. thick flanges. I run copper gaskets& no problems. Pat

I've got Sandersons on my '70, and I really like them. The head flange is very thick, (3/8") so there is no need for a gasket at the head, (high heat silicone only)and the collector is 2.5", so I just welded the exhaust pipe directly to a bolt on collector flange, eliminating the need for a reducer/collector. I also like the fact that they don't hang down below the frame, but they do hug the trans pretty tight, and I don't think that I could remove the trans without removing the headers first. I'm not sure what the part number is, but I think mine were made for early 90's chevy trucks.

Re: Sanderson Headers
Mr. Fitz, Professor Spoof must point out that the tag line about "intra-personal" problems and explosives suggests that one is intending to blow ones self up. To blow up other individuals, the usual source of one's misanthropy would be the result of "inter-personal" problems. Class dismissed.
Oh yeah, I have the block huggers. There collecting nothing but dust right now in the basement. The Zoomies are cool! |
Re: Sanderson Headers
Check out my build thread. I have a set of the mid lengths on mine, and they fit and look (ceramic coated) way better that the long tube headmans I had.

Re: Sanderson Headers
I have these and yet to be installed, they look to fit almost like the ramshorns

I just got a set of CC 10 headers for my 71 2wd blazer from ECE and they don't with fit my 4 speed manual trans linkage Z bar. I have to do some mods to where the Z bar is pivoted from. Anyone else have this problem?
heres what they look like on the passenger side so far.. Attachment 548312 Attachment 548313 |
