85 silverado accelarator
I changed spark plug wires, spark plugs and cap and rotor, the problem is now when I start it is fully accelerated I looked at the throttle cable and it doesnt seem to be stuck anywhere, any one have any idea of how this happened , maybe i disconnected something when i was sitting inside the engine compartment doing my thing.

Re: 85 silverado accelarator
Check to see if the throttle is closed all the way. Linkage on carb or cable may be binding. Remove the cable from the carb and see if it moves freely. I've had them bind in the plastic sheething at the pedal.

Also check out your return spring for the throttle cable. I've had it catch on a coat and get sent sailing accross the garage.

Re: 85 silverado accelarator
Is the throttle fully open, like when you push the peddle it is already on the floor, or is it a high idle and the peddle still moves? You might have disconnected a vacuum line. The vacuum going to the brake booster will definitely make the engine high idle if it is disconnected.
