6.2 to a 6.5 swap how hard is it???

I looked at a 1984 short fleet with a 6.2 in it but its blowen up so i stoped by the motor shop to see if he had any 6.2 parts laying around and he asked me to go with him to go pick up 6 6.5s he said that i could swap blocks with no probles and said i could use what i need to get the truck up and running. He is a good friend of mine

so will a 6.5 swap with a 6.2 and is it a sign from the man up stairs to by the truck?

thanks Jeff

Depending on what you do, (like just install a complete 6.5L) the only real problem you might run in to is the injector pump...most 6.5L are electronic/computer controlled. I can't remember what year it changed, but IIRC the first couple years of the 6.5L were not electronic controlled after that they get a computer and you would have to swap out the injector pump with an earlier one. Other than that the 6.5L should work.

In 92 they introduced the 6.5. Mechanical for 1 year. In 95 it went electronic. If you get the PMD(computer) the swap is fairly easy. But if you dont then you need to get a mechanical IP(DB2). Use Google, its a great tool.
