Sending Unit

Have any of you guys used a sending unit that is actually for a later model blazer ( like late 70's and 80's ) in your 69-72 K5?? I want to know if the sender unit's mounting head is the same diameter and will lock into a 69-72 K5 stock tank. Please help.

Not sure about the newer sending unit, but since the 69-72 blazer tank sending units are easy to come by - why not just use the correct one?

that is a good point, although I am doing a 6.2L diesel swap and it requires a return fuel line and there is not one on the stock 69-72 Blazer sender units, so I am gonna run a mid 80's sender unit.....and hopefully the mounting flange is the same.

Makes total sense now...good luck in your search - maybe somebody else will chime in and answer your question. As long as the sending unit is a 0-90ohm unit - it should keep the gas gauge accurate as well.
