Can i replace the whole rear with a truck bed

I have a 72 with alot of bad body work in the rear and I found a near perfect truck bed. and I think it would be easier to cut it from behind the door jambs and replace the floors and all in one shoot.

Yes, but you will have to take a section out behind the wheel wells and weld it back together and you will also need to cut the front off and weld a Blazer front floor section on.

If it is a swb it will be much easier, but the cross sills are different on pickup beds than on blazers at the frame mount locations. The sills on a blazer are recessed. I used my orginals and welded them in.

I wanted to find a short bed but a local guy has a mint long bed for $400 I am thinking or waiting but thats a good price to have a perfect rear clip for my truck.

Also, long bed wheel well arches are different. Short Bed and Blazer are the same.

Its true but no big deal. Not a show truck. Just an old junk 4x4 that is going to redone in 2wd with rack and pinion steering, flip kit in the rear and an 02 ls1 with a matching auto trans. I put a pic of the rack set up I will use.

The difference is in the edge in front of the tire. Dont have the pics that were sent to me but I will try to explain, the area is at the lowest point of the wheel opening in front of the tire, (red circle) blazers and swb sides come to more of a point where as lwb sides have more of a sweep to the front. Also you might want to think twice about using lwb bed, alot of work to make it work. Also the arch that is sold is only slightly larger than the area in black

Does anybody make replacement cross sills for the blazer?

Not to my knowledge, may have to try and salvage original ones.
