Do I need drop shocks?

It's an '87 front is 3" spindles and 2" springs, rear is a flip kit with shock extenders. Can I use stock shocks, or is there benefits with drop shocks? Also if I do need drop shocks on the front do I need 2" or 5"?
Thanks Dan

Re: Do I need drop shocks?

I always measure the shock mount dimensions @ ride height & compare them to the shocks dimensions (extended/collapsed). If you opt to get shocks w/o investigating, you'd only need ~2" drop since the spindles don't alter the shock travel.
