and the picture of the 4 link bar is my attempt at welding :)

Re: first build
Sweet. What are your susp set up specs?
|
Re: first build
looks good man, nice and low... On your welds i'd say turn the heat up and slow down just a little. You want nice dimes over lapping. You can even do a "C" pattern or weave back and forth. keep up the good work.
I see two different wheels in the pics which ones you going to use? Justin |
Re: first build
Awesome work man. Keep us updated!

Re: first build
Very ambitious for having no experience. Looks good- I've seen some less than stellar first attempts on this forum- yours is not one of them. As mentioned, more heat in your welds, especially on the thick pieces like you're working with. Have you thought about doing a sleeve style mounting off the back of the axle? Definitely wanna move the bags back though, if you plan on keeping them on the links- if you calculated the leverge on them, you're likely close to exceeding their limits. Again, looks really good...

Re: first build
looks great, did you use a cutoff wheel on the bed?
|
Re: first build
very nice project. is your support with the wishbone mount, does it go through the frame?
|
Re: first build
i did use a cutoff wheel for the bed, with the right measurements it was pretty easy i just took my time, and no the support doesn't go through the frame, but it sounds like that would have been a good idea. no updates yet, hoping to get some more work done on it in the next couple weeks
