theres a shaft that the pedal assembly is on, to the outside theres this braket that swings 360degrees and pretty much looks like its doing nothing at the moment. whats it for? and how do remove this whole shaft with the braket on it?

That was for a clutch. Your truck was a stick at some point in it's life.

its for your clutch linkage if you have a stick shift truck.

yea the truck used to be a 6cyl 3spd. i was wondering what it was doing there as it seemed to serve no purpose

Just unbolt it & pull it out.....it serves no purpose if you have an auto trans(the brake peddle will stay in place on a hollow tube )....crazyL:bowtie:

i didnt do the swap, some previous owner in the past must have done it. rear end is a 12 bolt 3.73 posi no way to tell if its original or not, my glove box options sticker was removed when the dip**** previous owner painted the truck himself.

I did the stick to auto and left the brake where it's at. I don't think there was a differant pedel for autos.:bowtie:

I moved my pedal over about 3in by heating near the top of the arm, bend to the left, and then heat near the pedal to make the pedal strait.
