How to change? AC Clutch Fan 2006 Chevy 2500
This is on one of our shop trucks with 150,000mi.. Stock clutch fan on compressor has melted rubber ozzing out of it and trucks ac doesn't blow cold.. Was working yesterday morning then made noises at lunch and stopped working.
How do I change this? Never messed with anything involving AC parts before. |

I didn't think the new trucks had orifice tubes? thought they were all switched to TXV systems by now. but last I checked a compressor clutch cost about twice as much as a whole reman compressor. I really don't think you'd have to put a dryer on it if the system is sealed still. if it has no refrigerant in it then you should look at putting a dryer in and compressor. vac it down and put in your oil & dye, then charge it up and check for leaks.

They still use orifice tubes. I think his compressor is locked up, So I whould change the dryer Along with flushing the condensor, evaporator & lines, Its not worth taking a chance. |
