Calipers not installing on Western Chassis spindles
I'm so close to getting this truck on the ground but ran into an issue. My calipers will not fit between the castings of the spindle. These are 1'' rotors and I did order the right spindles. Is minor grinding necessary? It's just a tad too much material so it's not allowing the caliper to slip in.

Re: Calipers not installing on Western Chassis spindles
Just give them both a little love. I had to clearance my spindles a little bit because they were hitting the control arms at full lock when turning. No big deal, just a little work with the die grinder and done.

This might be a dumb question, but aren't you supposed to compress the "boot" with a board before putting the caliper on?
That might be the issue...? |

But it sounds like it is a clearance issue between the caliper and the casting on the spindle. I agree with JonBoy, the casting probably just needs cleaned up. Hit the spots where the interference is lightly with a good bastard file or die grinder a little at a time until there is a good fit. Maybe even on both parts. |

Do you have any pics of the problem areas? Just curious.

Re: Calipers not installing on Western Chassis spindles
Got them installed. I compressed the pads a tad more, and with a little hammer tap they went on. Truck is LOW. Pics to come after my trip to the alignment shop.
