FS: 63-72 LS swap motor mounts.

1 Attachment(s)
LS swap motor mounts by Early Classic enterprises. Mocked up but never really used. All hardware included. ECE sells for $220, asking $165 shipped.

I have been looking at these mounts for some time now. Why didn't you use them? Did you find something that wouldn't quite work on the mounting?

The motor is a little too far forward than I would like. The a/c compressor fits in great. The LS clutch fan will also go on with the original 72 truck shroud if they are installed together. Its just that the motor is a little more forward than I would like.

I've got a '64' and I'm concerned with how much frame carving I might have to do. I've read where some guys have had to remove as much as 1/2 inch and others nothing at all. And of course, my frame is all powder coated.

Probably none, it fit in my 72 with no problems. ECE makes a good product, many guys have recommended them, on www.ls1tech.com and www.performancetrucks.net

Yes you will have to trim the top flange of your frame to use these mounts. They will work with the '72 frame without trimming, because the '72's are narrower on the top flanges, since the '69-'72 trucks were available with big blocks. These are basically the '73-'87 mounts but with a different upper bracket to bolt up to the LSx engines.

Thanks CaptainFab. That's what I've been reading and I guess that's what I'll have to do. Chevydog66 I'll PM you on the purchase. Thanks.

I received the mounts today from UPS. Everything looks great, just as you advertised. I appreciate the good deal and prompt shipping. Now all I have to do is figure out how to trim the frame on the top rail without screwing up the powdercoat.

Captainfab,
I'll do that, but it'll be a while. It looks like we're both looking at chevydog66 post about which way do the mounts go. It also looks to me like he has left in right side and right in left side. I posted some pics.
