Grinding sound from rear end when turning
 
Ok WTF! New rear end with locker...opened the diff drain the oil and did not see anything wrong with the inside! Jacked it up turn the wheels no grinding or tension when turning wheels!????! it happends at low and high speeds! Does anyone have any idea what the hell this is? Im guessing it mite be my axle bearings????:cuss:

Is it a true "locker" or a spool?

They are known to make noises on turns depending on the application.

I have a auburn locker! but the grinding is so bad when i turn slow it shakes the whole bed!

It has had the rear end for about 1 year! with no problems till now! no more donuts and burnouts! F%@k!!!!:censored:

I've heard that the Auburn's don't last as long as other types. The bad part is I don't think they are rebuildable. You might see if a mod will move this to 'Engine and drivetrain' for more replies and a better idea what's going on.

Thanks guys! got it fixed! changed the oil to 80W90 and added some LSD additives and we are rolling!!!! God damm lockers! never had this problem with my rock crawler! :bo2:

Yup! the thing that is sensitive on these lockers is the clutches! you dont have the right formula and they scream at you! almost like a women! lol!
