need help with exhaust setup for in-line 6
try to find info on exhaust setup for inline 6 (230) . I need to run exhaust pipe from header back, every shop I call wants to charge between 150-170, I want to do it myself pretty good at welding, does anyone have a picture or info so i can see angle of pipe I need to run. Thanks

Re: need help with exhaust setup for in-line 6
I used 2"EMT conduit and a hydraulic bender from work.--
Kicked it outside the frame and turned it out in front of the tire. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=365170 Check it out Page 6 -Bubbas recycling project in 60-66 project and builds |

Re: need help with exhaust setup for in-line 6
FYI, I have a decent exhaust on my truck currently (292 though) .... I plan on ripping it out, and running something different.
Flows into a flowmaster, then splits in front of the rear wheels.....looks recent (few years I guess) If you can use it, your welcome to it !! Here's a pic: - - http://i56.tinypic.com/dlj41z.jpg |

Unless you have another connection on the valve cover which doesn't show in that pic, you should run a vented cap with that PCV setup. Otherwise, there is no way for fresh air to get into the crankcase. Ray |

Re: need help with exhaust setup for in-line 6
Looks close ... If anything, you might just need to rework the flange area only....The rest of the pipe would be fine.
Mabey someone else will chime in regarding the flange connection ... Let me find another pic. |
Re: need help with exhaust setup for in-line 6
I just recycled the first foot with the flange and welded on new from there. 2" EMT is a little bigger diameter but not much.
I have made new flanges before by heating with a torch and working it over a ball hitch. Bubba |

I took a Y-pipe for a Nova that was laying around and cut the ends off. Then I welded new ends on that were oriented correctly. This was a 2 into 1 exhaust.

Re: need help with exhaust setup for in-line 6
I might have to try some of these ideas, that's the only thing holding me from driving my truck. I can't seem to find a flange to hookup to manifold, getting fustrasted.
