Valve Springs
 
How often do you guys have to change your valve springs?
I have Manley springs on mine amd she runs fine but with an 800 lift roller cam there has to be some serious spring pressure there.
Guess I need to break down and check them, so far two years and I haven't had to make many adjustments on the valve train.
Anyway I know the springs can be an issue and was curious what kind of time you guys were getting with yours.

I had about 15k on my Crane 832's. But it was a little .610/.612 lift hyd cam..

I have over 900 lift with a 2.200 spring and Titanium valves. I change them at or before 150 runs along with rings and lifters . On your deal you can probably go alot further maybe even 300 but at that point you really need to stay on top of the pressure. I would say 200 runs to be safe . You dont need to float the valves .

Manley 650 lb. per " NexTex springs, 320# on the seat 830# on the nose. Beat up on them a little bit like Regan does,, there good for a season (about 50 miles if it's a good season :) )

One of your best friends here is LSM. The actual # you read is really not the issue. CHANGES in the # is important. When springs go away they start beating things up REAL quick. With titanium valves running about $120 EACH it's not something you let go unchecked. Figure $1800 in valves and $600 for lifters,, letting spring pressure go unchecked can get REAL expensive in a big hurry. This little LSM gadget will give you a reliable # to compare to your baseline in less time than it takes to adjust the lash.
