Steering Column - rebuild or replace?
Hey gang,
I finally got all the suspension done on my '70 stepper. On to the next task - sloppy as $#ll steering column and general wiring missteps. The steering column (auto-non tilt) is really sloppy. The shifter works, but it is really sloppy, like it has no detents? The wiring is just generally patched-up. I scored a usable main wirng harness from another member here. I've cleaned it up and got it ready to install. The rest, I can repair as needed. I've done a few searches here and have a sorta' plan. Looks like - remove the cluster and the column, then tackle changing-out the harness. Should I repair, or replace the column. Not a show truck, but I need a dependable driver. Oh yea, none of the turn signal cancelling works, so that would have to be replaced also. Need some advise - open to thoughts! Thanks to all, Toby |

I reccomend an Ididit in basic finish and configuration. You will be done with the steering column issues if you do.
