Going Crazy - Trailer Bearings

I know this has nothing to do with my truck, but this weekend I spent more time at Northern Tool than I did working on what should have been a easy afternoon. Well this started off with a free trailer from my uncle. It has been sitting in his yard for 5 years.

So it started with getting wheels and tires replaced. Found out one of the wheels was rusted thru. After replacing this, I figured I should go ahead and replace the bearings, seal & race ways. Now this is where my problems started - I dont own a caliper, so going on what I could figure out based on old parts. This is what I found to work for my hub.

Outer CUP / Raceway - 1 1/16
Outer Bearing - 1 1/16
Inner CUP - 1 1/4
Inner Bearing - 1 3/8
Seal - 1 1/2

The inner is what really kicked my butt with multiple trips. I finally figured the Hub would support 1 1/4 cup and 1 1/4 bearing and 1 1/2 seal. By determing the cup size, Norther Tool labels their packaging to help you put everthing else together. But after getting back home for the 3rd time today. I noticed the 1 1/4 bearing will not fit over the spindle and it appears to need a 1 3/8 bearing.

The 1 3/8 bearing appears to fit into the 1 1/4 cup - dont see to many issues their or at least not yet. Is this common? Do I just have the incorrect spindle for the Hub? Can you see any issues using a 1 3/8 bearing in a 1 1/4 cup?

Thanks for any help...

i just did the same thing not too long ago. i went the easy route, i bought a complete axle kit for 159.99. this included everything hub to hub. i figured since all of the other stuff was bad, why not.

Not that I could find. Cleaned them up - but couldn't see anything about size.

most Chinese built bearings don't have numbers on them ... take your dimensions to a local industrial supply house and have them matched up with quality U.S. built bearings.
