Best way is to have the valves as close to the bags as possible and straight lines are your friends try to keep 90 degree fittings to a minimum. As far as tanks anywhere is a good place just make sure you have a bung in the bottom of the tank to drain off access water that builds in them. My valves for my 65 will be mounted on the inner fenders directly above the front bags and the rear will be mounted under the bed above the bags. My tanks are mounted under the drivers and passanger compartments with 1\2" line to the front and 3\8" to the rear. As far as fittings push to connect are the best way to go in my opinion.
