How much lift for 36/37's?
How much lift does an M1008(RCLB) need to clear 36/37"(Hummvee)tires? Obviously it would need new wheels that are 16.5. Thanks.

Re: How much lift for 36/37's?
to clear with decent trimming, 4 inch lift
to clear with minor trimming 6 inch to clear and have stock sheet metal 8 inch. That's just IMO also. any others can chime in. |
Re: How much lift for 36/37's?
you could also do like a 6 in suspension lift and 2 in body lift i have a 8 in suspension lift with 2 in body and there is tons of room for my 39.5s

That's ~8" on the blazer with 36x12.50 tsl radials. I think 6" would work no problem. I prefer something lower and trim with good bump stops if you're really going to wheel it. You could make 4" work if you don't mind getting the sawzall out. 6" would be a good compromise.

I have a 6" on my 72 with the 37" tires you are talking about on it. It's fine on the road but will rub when wheeling.

Re: How much lift for 36/37's?
Been bouncing around the same question in my mind lately. Gonna be doing the lift on my burb before long, and am trying to decided whether or not I wanna trim for the 36's. I think, since I'm gonna have to paint it anyway, I'll go with a 4" lift and do some trimming. But still kinda on the fence between 4" and 6" of lift.
