Edelbrock 1406 re calibrate HELP!!!
Hello board. I need some advice. I live in beautiful Las Cruces New Mexico, around 4000+ feet above sea level. My problem is my new Edelbrock 1406 makes the 350 run rich (RV cam, full length headers).I bought the carb calibration kit #1487 with various jets, rods and springs. Now Leland at summit racing who sold me the kit said it would be idiot proof ,but now as I look down into the kit I don't have a clue where to start,or which jets, ors or springs to use. Any help any one?:waah:

Strange, the 1406 is metered to be slightly lean in comparison to the 1405 600 CFM. I would try and go to the next step lean on the chart in the user manual. In your case it would be step 8. I assume you are having this issue while cruising (not wide open throttle).

If you need to go lean in Cruise and Power (Acceleration) then use calibration step 7.
Use the chart above to mix and match the rods, jets, springs. You really cant screw up too much and can always go back to a base calibration... Bill |
