Q jet choke problem
Ok, I've been here before with this problem, with no luck fixing it yet. 72 K20 Does not want to stay running right after a cold start. The choke closes fine but vaccume pulls it open as soon as it starts. The spring tstat is fairly new, I have tried to bend the choke linkage to adjust the travel but the vaccume piston is overriding everything. I kind of need to fix it because I use the truck for snowplowing. Thanks

Re: Q jet choke problem
Have you got a pic of your choke. You might need to lengthen your choke pulloff linkage rod.

Re: Q jet choke problem
I have tried to adjust many things on that card but never that. Many thanks. It works great now. I never knew that rod could be bent to make it longer.

Fine tune the qjet and they really are great carbs.

I guess I gotta find a good shop book on this carb. My old Chiltons book wasnt helpfull on this thing.

Good info!
Trying to add an electric to my Q-Jet as it just has the choke and arm but nothing really attached to it. |
