blazer fuel tank and efi bbc question

has any body used a blazer tank to feed a multi-port efi bbc? i'm looking to get a fast efi for my 427 and curious if i would be better of getting a fab purpose tank or could use my blazer tank with an inline pump. the tank was about a year old when i got the blazer.

Thanks!
david

I thought about converting mine. The issue I saw was that the original tank isn't baffled. I also want to go with an in-tank pump. When I have fundage, I'll be ordering a fuel cell from either Dave Boyd or fuelcellguy.

454 Edelbrock MPFI Pro-Flo

NWMP 37gal tank w/internal baffeling

I use the external fuel pump that came with the Edelbrock Pro-Flo kit and I have had Zero issues...I even ran out of fuel once and didn't get any starvation issues until no more fuel was flowing.
My buddy ran a stock blazer tank with his LS engine and I recall him saying he can't let the fuel level get below 1/4tank or his fuel flow will skip a beat...esp when flooring it!
Good Luck Happy Friday!

I've been told that people take units like this and put them in older non-baffled carb style tanks. The cup at the bottom does the work of the baffles and keeps fuel to the pump. In this case I guess you would have to cut another large hole in the top of the tank to bolt this in. Its a thought, I've been trying to find something like this that has the lock ring style top so It could just be dropped into my original tank. So far no luck.

sweet, how do you like the edelbroch setup burt? thats one option i've considered. as for getting under the 1/4 tank mark, i'm not going to say its not an issue but i live far enough from a gas pump that i will probably make sure its not an issue with the big block

I am going the way Critter posted. Repop Tank and Pickup like that for my LT1 swap

This is exactly the part I used when I did my TPI upgrade. Works great. The only problem is that the vertical part is too short and I needed to extend it about 2" to get to the bottom of the tank.

IT's kickass man! :metal: I had a hard time "tuning" it as I'm not a EFI guy....I can rebuild a carb but setting up EFI computer is ahh...confuzing hehehe
So I drove it too the nearest Dyno shop and had them tune it on the Dyno! Damn good thing I did it right away too as my Air/fuel was way off and would have burnt up my 454 in short time :uhmk:
Trottle responce is amazing :metal:
I have heard good things about the Holly Comander 950 EFI too. ( I think that is what they call it?)
Good Luck! BBCs errr FUN mmmmK!! :ito::lol:
