Where to find a spid sheet?
I just bought a 88 crew cab and there is no spid in the glovebox. The truck is untouched on the interior, so I was wondering where to look for a spid in the interior. Is there one tucked under or inside a seat?

Re: Where to find a spid sheet?
The SPID should be in the glovebox. That's a build requirement, so it had to be there before the vehicle left the plant. They do sometimes come unstuck (mine did) and fall under the seat, mats or wedged in the carpet. You might check there.
The "build sheet" is what is sometimes gets placed in the seat cushions. It's a different document (different format and purpose that the SPID) and it was not a requirement for it to be placed in the seat. Depends on the build plant, build shift and individual operator. It was sometimes just easier to build the seat up around it than it was to pull it out and throw it away. Having said that, it can't hurt anything to pull the seat up and see if anything is there (mine wasn't :(). K |
