Re: Duallys on 17-19" wheels

I've been looking for interchangability on wheels myself.

The new model GM & Dodge dually trucks have 17" steelies from the factory. I have a buddy w/a yard that says he can get the newer wheels if I want to trade my current 16" Alcolas. I just haven't found much info on what it would take to swap them.... Nothing? Hubcentric adapters?

I just don't like wheels that have to be polished & I'm not interested in 22's. I wish they did 20" dually wheels.

Scot,

I'd like a set of 16" Alcoas for my truck. Keep me in mind.

Will do. Any ideas on what it might take to get the newer 17" steel wheels to fit? Most google info is about swapping 19.5's or 22.5's (or larger).

I bolted a set of late model 17" Dodge dually wheels up to my 72 C30 with no issues. 9/16 studs fit perfect and the nuts with the flat flange hold'em on.

Good to hear. The Dodge 17" wheels seem to be an easier score when searching for dually steelies.

if your not gonna lower it, go with the 22.5's and a standard tire, a heavy truck tire on a dually would last longer than the truck will and would look cool too !

From my understanding 2000 ++ Chevy/GMC will not fit (I could be wrong)

as i was interested in the new 5 star rims on the new duallys.

Some dodge rims will fit years (i'm not sure)

go on Dually Sene and P/M Trevor from Tennese wheel and tire.

I don't think they'll fit with out a lift. The smallest 19.5" tire you can get is around 32" tall, and 22.5s are quite a bit bigger, as you can see.

How much side wall are you looking for?

I have also been doing some research on tire options. I plan to go with a 19" (19.5 milled down) but also don't want a 26.71 tire height. What I have found is that I think I am going to go with a 245/55-19 which will give me a 29.61 tire height. I can then run a 235/75-16 tire on the inside rear. If I go with this combo I will be turning 3500rpm @ 75mph with a 4.10. This is only 200 rpm's more than my stock tire height. If I choose to change my gears to 3.53 then I would be looking at 3000rpm at the same speed.

I know this is an old thread, Do you have any pictures?, currently looking to do this on my 72 C-30 and have a good deal on a set of ram 17" dually wheels. I heard the hub size is too big for the 72, thanks

He hasn't been on here since 2016 so you probably won't get a reply.

Had a feeling, but you never know. Maybe someone else has done this swap
