clarifing disk brake swap?'s
I have a 1968 c30 that I would like to put disk brakes on the front of. I also have a 1993 c3500 dually for parts. From reading about the 6 lug disk brake swap I figure that I can put the spindles from the 93 on my 68. Is this a sound idea or is it not going to work? Also am I correct in my understanding that I can install the 14 bolt from the 1993 with out modifying the perches?

Re: clarifing disk brake swap?'s
Sorry I can't answer your questions.
I would think the 73-87 C30 trucks would be better donors for disc brake parts. |
Re: clarifing disk brake swap?'s
after reading about it I would have to agree, but I own the 1993 parts trucks so I would like to use it if I could. If nobody knows I guess I will be the test mule.

Re: clarifing disk brake swap?'s
I don't have a clue but measure the spring perches on both axles see if they are the same.

Re: clarifing disk brake swap?'s
The front will not "swap" straight out.... you would want to use 73-87 (73-91 Crew cab) C30 for a direct swap. In the rear I doubt that the axle perches are where they need to be however, cutting those off and welding them back on in the correct spot is not a big deal at all.
