Re: 84 c10 power window problems
More than likely you lost power to the driver side switch. If I remember correctly power for both windows enter the dvr. door. Your switch on the pass. side gets power from the pass. switch on the dvr. side door. So if you lose that main feed on the dvr. side both windows wont work. Pull the switch on the dvr. side and see if you have 12V at any of the pins. If not, trace your wire from your circuit breaker to the switch. Not likely both switches would go out at the same time, but anythings possible!

Re: 84 c10 power window problems
For power window problems, pull the switch away from the door panel, operate the switch while wiggling the wires on the connector behind the switch. Push/pull lightly on the wires where they enter the connector. If the switch works intermittently, then I suspect this connector/harness. The generic harness is still available from AC/Delco (PT254). In my experience, a lot of switches and motors were replaced when it was really the harness that was the problem.

i've found the wire breaks in that black tube in the door jam
there is a harness/plugin under the edge of the dash for the door |

Yeah, but it might be better to just take the fender off next time you are trying to access the jam
