rear u-bolt flip
Hey guys, quick question. I'm building a 70 K10, and I would like to flip the u-bolts in the rear so they go up like the front. Could I use top spring plates off the front? I have an extra set.

Re: rear u-bolt flip
I don't know what kind of rear / front end you have, but I would have to say No unless the holes are slotted. The passenger side uses 2 different sized ubolts. The easiest thing to do is get out the trusty tape measure.

Re: rear u-bolt flip
I thought the earlier 67-72 had nuts up. Later 73+ had the nuts facing down in the rear. Check out ruffstuffspecialities.com or diy4x4.com. It seems like i saw a kit to put the nuts uppward one of those places.

Re: rear u-bolt flip
The axle tube are different size from front to back so no you will need the correct spring plate for the rear.

Re: rear u-bolt flip
What axle is in your truck? Do you have any pictures? I am only really familiar with 67-68 which point up. What year did they change from up to down, at the factory?
Here is the one that I was thinking of, by off road design. http://offroaddesign.com/catalog/uboltreversal.htm Here are several from ruff stuff specialties (I used the 14 bolt simple swap on my truck). You wouldnt neccessarly need to replace the spring perch. http://www.ruffstuffspecialties.com/...123bc9e924ecbe |
