How strong is the Rockwell T-221
Just like the title says. The reason I ask is I am planning a swap and need to know if it will handle a 300-400hp 750-900ftlbs Cummins.

Re: How strong is the Rockwell T-221
I don't know about behind a Cummins but my father used his 65 K10 to haul 2.5 tons of water in the mountains of CO every other week or so. Rain, snow or shine....

Re: How strong is the Rockwell T-221
There is a good chance that wherever that Cummins is coming from there is a 205 close by. Why not fab in a 205 now while you are in the mood? And what I mean by in the mood is while you are in fab mode. The T 221 would probably take it for a bit. But when you need parts for it, and you will need parts because your case is probably " experienced " they will be harder to find than parts for a 205. Besides, how many destroyed 205's have you seen? I have seen two, both examples where extemely abused in all ways possible.

Re: How strong is the Rockwell T-221
No plans for 4wd burnouts. My plans for the truck would just be for driving and the occasional sled pull. But I am addicted to power so it won't be stock.
LANDC, The motor and NV I have were from a 2wd so I don't have a spare 205 and If i wer to use a 205 I'd like to use a divorced unit, However I do know where there is a 201 from an 63 PowerWagon. |
Re: How strong is the Rockwell T-221
The sled might be its down fall with that much torque.
