I got a 85 Chev Shortbox with a ZZ4 350cid, What kind of cable do you use?, mine just make a loop and make the accelerator pedal hard as a rock...

Re: Throttle cable....
Ill be the first to tell you. Buy your self a lokar cable and be good. I just installed one in my truck and makes the pedal feel way better. Nice and simple upgrade took like 30 minutes to do, the first one ive ever done too.

Re: Throttle cable....
Just wanted to add to this, that while the lokar i am sure works great, there is a good chance your current cable is just done for. And even if you go for the lokar, I figured it won't hurt to have my advice for anyone searching in the future.
I just went thru this on my suburban, and while a tbi is different from a carb, a throttle cable is a throttle cable. Mine is currently and was before looped around too. I took the cable off the throttle body and it seemed to move just fine, and I had check the throttle body itself and the pedal, and both seem good as well. So I figured, what the hell, and spent the money on a new one and voila... pedal feels just like my Blazer with the tbi does. In other words exactly like it should be and not hard. |
