Will a 315/35r20 on a 20"x10" fit in the rear?
I am looking for a fat tire and wheel combo for the rear of my truck. I have found a 315/35r20 that is a 27" tall tire, and a 20x10 with 5.5"bs. Do you think it will fit or will i have to widen the tubs?

that tire will be more than 12" wide

Tire Specs:
Section Width 12.6" on an 11" rim. Rec rim- 10.5-12.5" 28.7" tall not 27" I think it will be close, I read on here somewhere that they had this size tire on a 20x10 and it was close but they don't say if they modified the tubs or anything. |

It will fit. I'm running a 20x12 w/6" bs. with a 315/35/20 lowered with a flip kit. I had to trim the fender lip about 1/2"
Just get your backspacing perfect!! Do a search with my user name for pics Posted via Mobile Device |
Re: Will a 315/35r20 on a 20"x10" fit in the rear?
I had 295-40's on 20x10 TT2's w/5.00"bs & then some Coy's w/5.50"bs w/approx 8" of rear drop . The 5.50"bs put the 295's pretty close to the inner tub wall. The 315's would come even closer since they are dimensionally wider but would still prob clear. I would imagine they would rub occassionally & you could always run a small .250" spacer to help (the 5.00"bs is ideal).
IMO, 315's need an 11" wheel minimum. |
Re: Will a 315/35r20 on a 20"x10" fit in the rear?
I have been thinking of a 20x12 as well but those wheels(Vintec) are a little more expensive than I wanted to spend. I really want the Vintec soft lip dish in 20x12 and 20x8.5 so i am probably going to just wait a little bit longer and get the wheels I really want. I am looking at the Eagle 225s that are a little cheaper but I don't like them as much as the Vintecs. I am not against adding some width to the tubs but I would like to keep the rear-end at a stock length. I will just have to wait until I get home and do some measuring to see what I can fit.

I'm currently running a 295/40/20 on 20x10 Boss 338s. I'm lowering the rig another 2 inches which will bring me down to 7.5 in the rear. I'll have to run a spaced and extended studs, shave the inside of the bed and inside of my fender to fit a 305/35...good luck Bro.

I am going to save for some 20x8.5 and 20x12 Billet Specialties SL Dish Vintecs.

The Boss is 6.25" BS if I remember right. Showwheels have a 5.5" rear backspace, and we are running a special for April (10% Off).

I already bought my Boss 338's for another project, or I'd be all over them.

Right on..... should look good on the truck, just need that spacer. The 305 & 315 look killer on these trucks.

Re: Will a 315/35r20 on a 20"x10" fit in the rear?
I originally went with 275/40/20's on my Boss 338's, but they were bald within a year. I didn't like the tire stretched look anyway. I am using a set of 1.25" thick billet spacer/adapters to center the wheel in the housing and get the effective backspacing to 5.0".
Just bought a pair of 315/35/20's. They are mounted, balanced, and on the truck now. Looks like I might be rolling and/or trimming the inter lips to clear when hitting bumps. The truck is down until I complete the turbo setup. I thought about getting a set of 1.0" billet spacer/adapters in order to 'suck' the wheel closer under the truck since I have more room to move inside. |
