4.3L/700r4 to a 5.7L/700r4

I recently called my local transmission shop and got some info that I would like you guys to verify for me. I have a 4.3L and would like to put in a 700r4. Eventually I would like to put in a V8 such as 5.7L which I think is a 350. Would the 350 bolt to the 700r4? They said that the 700r4 would have a special bellhousing to bolt to the 4.3L but possibly would not bolt to the 350. Please let me know you thoughts on this.

Pop's I am doing a swap from a manual to a automatic. I was told on this forum that the best way to go would be the 700r4 so I don't have to mess with the electronics. So for know it will be joined with the 4.3L until I get a V8.

Yea I believe that both the 4.3 and the 5.7 will bolt right up to the 700r4 which would be a good choice to go with it your going to drop a 350 in it.

The one fact that has been left out, make sure you aquire a V8 700,as the V6 version, while externally identical,is built with weaker components.

Yes I am having them build it with the intention of putting a V8 behind it. Thanks for the assurance on this guys.

Says who..that's like sayin a th350 from behind a 292 is weaker than a th350 behind a sb400.
