super p.o. today i hung my doors and fenders to the factory spec .have tons of money into my paint .i installed my new door weatherstriping from a vender on the site to find out it will take a 10 ton port-a-power to close both doors .why with all the technology today the aftermarket can not make things the same or fit right. has anyone used softseal and had good luck open for idea's thanks mark

Give it time to compress. I felt the same as you last winter and now everything is perfect.

Your doors probably worked great with old compressed 40 year old weatherstripping, what have you done to adjust them for the brand new weatherstripping?

Same problem on my 67. Had to use the new one on pass. side and adjust door catch way out. Salvaged the old one for the driver side, closes itself. If you find the right seals let me know. Dick

I'd be interested in suggestions from where to buy. About ready to purchase but don't know anything about AM quality or who has better.

GMC Paul sells the BEST replacement door seals. They press-on, no glue. They fit like a glove and can be removed and put back on easily.

OP- Your seals will need to break in. Have you cut a small slit in it so the air can escape when the door is shut?

i always gently heat them up with a heat gun then slam the door to compress for a god fit when hot// sometimes it takes a few times to get it right// just b carefull not to get them yoo hot
