Automatic Tranny Filter

I have a '94 Silverado Ext Cab 2WD and want to change the transmission filter and fluid. When I climbed underneath, I noticed the rear pan bolts are underneath the crossmember and the rear transmission mount is connected to the crossmember. Is there a way to get to the back bolts on the pan without removing the crossmember?

Re: Automatic Tranny Filter

You can try un-bolting the trans mount from the cross member then from the trans and jack the tail shaft up off the member, But put a stand under the tail shaft or block of wood between the two before sticking your hand/wrench in to remove the screws.
