4X4 Rear Disc Conversion k30 & k20

I got some great information from a the owner of OFFROAD DESIGN in Colorado.... they have a rear disc conversion kit that is applicable for any 14 bolt full floating axle....

The kit is being shipped currently but if you'd like to see it... go to the website... www.offroaddesign.com/

I'll post pictures as soon as I can. Definitely looking forward to this addition to the old 1 ton. It reuses factory k20 calipers from 81-87. No fabrication required... the kit bolts on. VERY COOL:chevy:

I have ORD's kit on 1 of my 14 bolts, It fits/works great. I also have Ballistic's kit on another 14 bolt. Both seem to be worth the money.

We swapped in a 2005 model HD rear axle into my '77 - it already had disc brakes with the integral parking brake so it worked out great! A lot of those swap kits have "iffy" parking brake set-ups on 'em...

I also went with a newer rear end from an 06 with factory discs after reading my4b2s build although those bolt on's are alot cheaper in price i liked the idea of factory discs over a bolt on kit ill be doing a thread soon on the swap

I love the rear discs on my rock crawler. It's not driven on the street, so no need for a legal parking brake. I use a line loc to the rear for doing front digs, tighter turns or parking n the trail.

DIY4X has a great kit as well, plenty of 14bFF kits.

The shop building my truck (WFO Concepts) has a disc brake conversion for the 14-bolt as well:

They make the parts themselves & do killer work!

If you're referring to the ones on my rear axle, those are for the torque arms they built for it - the other mounting end is up forward on the frame.
