Speedometer makes clicking noise.?
 

Sometimes my speedometer makes an annoying clicking noise at my dash, anyone know what would cause this or is it normal?

Cable could need some lube, i pulled mine completely out from the inside and lubed it up problem solved.

Anyone know if the 2wd trucks all have the same length cable? I'm just going to replace the cable.

i used a graphite spray. worked well.

I did this and it's still bad, my gauge needle stutters and shakes too. I think I need to replace the cable .

mines doing the same thing with brand new cable and old original speedo and housing

disconnect the cable from the tranny, chuck the end in a drill and see it still makes noise

Your speedo head has started to go bad. It will continue to get worse until the needle starts bouncing all over the place and then won't move at all. Replace your speedo head.

I have experienced a loud ticking noise when I had an exhaust manifold leak, sounds exactly like a ticking speedometer from the drivers seat... can you hear it under the hood?

No its def coming from the speedo. I just got he new cluster from LMC 1200 miles ago, hope it's not the speedo head. Is the speedo head the actual gauge?

Clik, clik, clik,clik.clik,clik,tat,tat,tat,tat,tic,tic,tic,..(improve bouncing needle)..clik,clik Boing..clic,tac, tic, Boing......I used to do voice over work. Tha tha that's all folks....a little levity ok?

I believe the speedo head and gauge (face and needle) are a single unit. Is the LMC unit a remanufactured OEM speedo head, or is it a Chinese repop? Either way, LMC should replace the unit for you in my opinion.

I'm sorry , I bought this from classic parts USA. Waiting to hear back from them. Anyone ever delt with them on a return?
