88+ A/C in a 67-72
 

It seems like I saw someone on here trying to put A/C from a 88-98 chevy truck into a 67-72.

I bought a 91 chevy for the TBI engine, but basically the entire A/C is under the dash. The metal can (dryer?) is on the engine side of the fire wall. It looks like it could fit. The thing that kinda concerns me is that it seems like the dash to the firewall in the newer trucks is deeper than our. I haven't measured or anything, but thought I'd start here.

If I can't find someone who has done it, I'll document at least trying to make it work.

Oh, and this is an R-12 system, so I'll also convert it to R-134

I have both style trucks and I see one major potential problem. Everything in the 88-98 style truck is electronically controlled. (As far as doors anyway). Plus, you'll have to do something about the ductwork, because everything is molded plastic and not hoses. I'm not saying it couldn't be done, just that it seems like a lot of work. But if you can pull it off I'd love to see pics too!

That would clean up the engine side of the firewall pretty good. That's a lot of case that would be exposed inside the cab though. If it works for you I have a wrecked 97 complete I could do the same thing with.

I was planning on using the 91's control panel for it. I'll come up with something to connect our hoses too :) A little fiberglass work never hurt anyone.
